Winter Classes:

Classes beginning in January:

Rotary Cutting Techniques

1 class, Saturday, Jan. 21,, 10-4 p.m.,$50 plus hst, material extra,  beginners.  A "must" class if you haven't done very much rotary cutting.  Learn to use your cutter/ruler more efficiently.

Beginner's Quilt, "Crazy Six"

7 classes, starts Tuesday, Jan. 24, 7-10 p.m., (if enough interest, we will offer a day class), $155 plus hst, material extra, beginner, learn the basics of quilting and complete this lovely quilt.

Crib Sheet

1 class, Thursday, Jan. 26, 7-9 p.m., $20 + hst. (fabric extra)

Table Runner, "Going Buggy"  (pattern design by Carrie Nelson)

3 classes, starts Thursday, Jan. 26, 10-1p.m., $75 plus hst, material or kit extra,  intermediate/advanced level, precise cutting/ sewing involved.

Bernina Class

1 class, Saturday, Jan. 28, 10-3 p.m (1 hour break for lunch).  This is a free class for customers who purchased Berninas during the Spring,Summer and Fall of 2011, material extra.--cancelled due to weather--new date will be set later

 Beginner's Sewing

8 classes beginning Sunday, Jan. 29, 2-5 p.m., $175 + hst.  Includes use of a Bernette sewing machine.  Learn to sew by making small projects such as a bag, pj pants, etc.

Reversible Apron

1 class, Thursday, Feb. 2, 7-9 p.m., $20 + hst (fabric extra)

Beginner's Sewing (extra class)

8 classes beginning Feb. 13, 7-10 p.m.

Alterations 101

2 classes, Feb. 4 & 11, 10-4 p.m., $100 + hst., material extra.  Learn to do several types of hemming plus minor alterations on clothes.

NL Sampler Quilt

8 classes starting Wed., Feb. 8, 10-1 p.m. or Thurs. , Feb. 9, 7-10 p.m., $175 + hst. (fabric extra).  Original design by Cathy Pittman.  Mixture of machine piecing, applique and paper piecing.  Intermediate/advanced.

Colour Planning for Quilts

1 class, Saturday, Feb. 18, 10-4 p.m., $70 plus hst (includes a comprehensive booklet & class supplies).  Learn the different colour schemes and how to use them in your quilts.

"Lino Cuts" Quilt:

5 classes beginning Feb. 23, 10-1p.m., (an evening class will be offered if there is enough interest), $115 + hst, fabric extra, advanced beginner/intermediate, (must be comfortable with rotary cutting).  We will make the quilt top only in class.  This is an original design by Eileen Green.  The quilt measures queen size and is on display at Piece Maker's.

Classes beginning in March:

Roman Shades

1 class, Saturday, March 10, 10-4 p.m., $75 plus hst, (includes class and materials for the sample).  Learn how to make a basic Roman Shade (sample size only!)

Sunflower Wallhanging

3 classes, starts Monday, March 19, 10-1p.m., (an evening class will be offered if there is enough interest), $75 plus hst, fabric extra. Advanced Beginner/intermediate (must be comfortable with rotary cutting).  This is a combination of Ricky Tim"s Convergence and Susan Loland's 3-D flower technique.

Quilting Skill Levels

 

Beginners      must be comfortable with using a sewing machine.

Advanced Beginner       must be comfortable with using a sewing machine and rotary cutting.

Intermediate        must be comfortable with sewing, rotary cutting and have applied a quilt binding.
