Workshops & Classes
We are doing another Block of the Month starting in April--Once upon a Star. Kits 1 to 6 are now ready. For those enrolled, you may pick them up one at a time, or purchase them all at once.
Fall Classes;
Please note the quilting levels for those classes:
1. beginners--must be comfortable with sewing machine.
2. advanced beginner--must be comfortable with sewing machine and rotary cutting.
3. intermediate--must be comfortable with sewing, rotary cutting and have applied a quilt binding.
Classes beginning in September:
1. Beginner's Quilt, Crazy Five, with Eileen. 6 classes beginning Wed., Sept. 9 (7-10p.m.) and Saturday, Sept. 12, 10-1p.m., Tuition $95 plus fabric.
2. Tesselation Fall Runner with Cathy, 2 classes beginning Thursday, Sept. 17, 7-10p.m., intermediate level, $35 plus kit.
3. Stippling (free Motion) with Eileen, 1 class, Saturday, Sept. 19, 2-5 p.m., $20 plus material, beginners
4. Gale Force Wind quilt with Cathy, a "stack the Deck" technique, 1 class, Sept. 21, 7-10p.m., advanced beginner, $20 plus fabric.
5. Thimbleberries Village Quilt, a sampler quilt with Eileen, Part One consists of 6 classes beginning Tuesday, Sept. 22, 10-1p.m. Intermediate level, Part two consists of six classes and will continue after Christmas. We will meet every second Tuesday and complete a unit bi-weekly. $150 for each part plus fabric.
6. Stack the Deck tree Skirt with Eileen. 3 classes-- Saturdays, Sept. 26,Oct. 10 and Oct. 17. (2-5p.m.), Intermediate level. $50 plus kit.
7. Charm Casserole Holder with cathy, 1 class, Monday, Sept. 28, 7-10p.m., advanced beginner, $40 (includes class and kit)
8. Stain Glass candle with Eileen, 3 classes beginning Sept. 29, 10-1p.m., Advanced beginner, $50 plus kit. This is a good project for your first stained Glass piece.
9. Beginner's Sewing with Donna, 8 weeks beginning Sept. 13, Sundays 2-5 p.m., $165 plus fabric. Includes the use of shop machines.
Classes beginning in October:
We have Susan Loland from Blackeyed Susan designs visiting Oct. 1,2,3 and 4.She brings to us some new and interesting technique. Visit our store to see a display of her work or visit her website at www.blackeyedsusandesigns.com
On Friday, Oct. 2 at 7:30p.m., we will host a trunk show with Susan Loland at St. George's Elementary School. Admission is $10 which gives you a one hour presentation by Susan Loland and a ticket to Piece Maker's Quilt Shop for some specials from 8:30 -10:00p.m. that evening. Spaces are limited, so register early.
Oct. 1, Beading Class with Susan, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., or 7-10 p.m., $60 (includes class and supplies), this is a technique class only--you will not be making a specific item, beginners.
Oct. 2, Convergence Class with Susan. 10a.m.-5 p.m., $75 (includes class and pattern), material or kit extra. This is a Ricky Tims imaginative, new piecing technique. You have two or more fabrics cut into strips, sewn together, then cut and pieced again. You will embellish with your own applique. This is a unique work of art. intermediate level.
Oct. 3 & 4, Raw Edge Applique with Susan, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. $150 (includes class and pattern), Material or kit extra. intermediate/advanced level.
Oct. 8, 15 & 22, Sampler Christmas Wallhanging/table Topper with Cathy. Fee $50 plus material. 7-10p.m., advanced beginner.
Oct. 21 & 28, Jelly Roll Table Runner with Eileen. $35 plus a ready to sew kit, 2-5 p.m
Oct. 21, Machine applique technique with Eileen, $35 (includes material), 7-10 p.m., advanced beginner.
Oct. 28, Stain Glass Angel with Eileen, three classes, 7-10 p.m., $50 plus kit. intermediate/advanced level.
Classes beginning in November:
We have another guest visiting ou store in November--Edith Kaufeldt from Baby lock, Canada. Edith will be at the store from Nov. 20-23. She will be teaching classes on machine embroidery and serging. She will also be doing demos on the newest addition to Babylock--the Ellisimo.
